   Ramps to Freedom

Ramps to Freedom provides individuals with physical limitations access to their communities and allows them to safely enter and exit their homes. This goal is accomplished by gathering volunteers and funds necessary to build access ramps for those trapped by financial and physical circumstances.

A unique feature of this project is that a ramp can be recycled by removing it after the original owner no longer needs it. The ramp components are then reused to build a new ramp for a new owner, thereby creating a community resource that benefits multiple residents over time. In addition to meeting the individual's and family's immediate and essential health and safety needs, these ramps provide the opportunity for increased social engagement of home-bound individuals with their families and communities.

      Who Qualifies for a Ramp?

  • Individuals with physical limitations, persons with aging conditions, caregivers of a loved one with physical limitations or aging conditions, families with children who have physical limitations

      What is the Cost?

  • Skilled construction volunteers provide the ramp design and labor at no cost
  • Financial assistance may be offered for the purchase of materials based on availability of donated funds and family's financial needs
